Box for a Memphis sub
« on: December 16, 2010, 08:48:12 pm »
So I picked up a sweet memphis 10. I'm really new to the audio scene. But I've been reading up and I know that subs have a recommend ed box/enclosure size by the manufactu rer. I'm envisioni ng doing a false floor over the spare tire compartme nt. Model 15-MS104D

Oh I'm building my own box btw. I know about using 3/4 mdf, and the option of sealing, polyfil etc. Just hook me up with some ideas!

3/4" is overkill for a single 10... Thats just a plain 10 sub, nothing special. I hope you didnt pay much for it. That sub Peaks at 400watts and RMSs at 200. I have that much power running my front door speakers in the Element. Dont expect much out of it, just some added sound.

For your box ideas, just do a sealed box.

yea I know that much. I got the sub, memphis amp, and Rockford fosgate wires for 200.. And everythin g was used for like a day. I only got one 10 because I don't want to weigh the car down too much being I have plans for an ls/v.  Just a little somethin lol
