ENGINE KILLSWITCH WRITE UP!
« on: December 31, 2010, 06:19:34 pm »
Ok so I did some research on Killswtic hes for civic and such and some are fuel pump related and some are relay related but when you cut the switch off it resets your radio and dash clock.. soooo i went the slightly more difficult route and did the fuel pump one which is easier for EFs. you can google civic killswitc h and itll give you the different options for whatever year as far ef body and eg body and so on.

but!! ill give you my parts list and pics.

but just know its the fuel pump related killswitc h.

here is a link to where i found my info on doing the killswitc h(the guys first post is for a 92 and up civic.. scroll down about 3 post and you will see the post for 88-91 civics (he did his in a crx) but anyways check it out. and it does work. my car is proof.
http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.php/kill-switch-88-95-honda-civic-crx-delsol-709.html

THIS IS MY SWITCH I DID BUT DIFFERENT LOCATION. THIS LINK IS DONE WITH A CRX
http://www.crxresource.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=131

PARTS NEEDED:

locate the yellow wire with a black stripe and silver dots running from the fuel pump. (this is your wire you are going to interrupt .. it will disable the fuel pump if its cut. hence putting a switch on it. it runs from the fuel pump to the bay. just choose a spot and cut and run a switch.)

wire cutters/wire crimps
16g wire
16g male and female connector s
and a 30amp switch

i dont recommend a lighted switch...

NOTE!!!! IF YOU EXTEND THE WIRES FOR THE PLUG... YOU NEED TO INSTALL A RELAY

CELL PHONE PICTURES. SHITTY QUALITY!!

Parts needed(minus tools)(ignore the black switch in the photo)

Male and female connector s (16g)

16g spool of wire

Switch

i searched for a place to install the switch.. once i found a suitable home for it...i found the wire i needed to tap into then i ran the wire to the location of my choice then made it all happen! and it works perfectly!!

Put a kill switch in my car a while ago.. It's definitle y a good idea to keep a spare switch or tools to bypass the switch if it fails.. But any smart ef'er keeps tools in their car.. Lol

you only need a relay if you extend the wires farther than.... I believe its 3 feet, but unsure.
I don't care
