They have a novice class at every event.

That helps most people a ton.

The next event is at ams.

I missed points #4 and points #6 because they were held at atlanta motor speedway and I'm lazy.

Points #7:

Hot day.
I ran a best of 48.164 and was only .210 sec off the class leader.
I ran my setup pretty much the same with hoosier 225f, 205r, 25mm spacers up front and 35psi all around.

Rear dampers are still at full soft, but I did take the front dampers 4 clicks from full stiff to see how it felt.  It was fine. I may continue to bring the front dampers a bit softer at each event to further testing.

Rear swaybar is still on full stiff.  The car did get a little loose in a couple spots, but I was able to apply the gas and dorifto through.

The best thing was that the class leader was on borrowed kumho race tires this event.  He knows I'm nipping at his heels now!

I'm certain that if I used this tire softener and / or went with 275's up front, then I could catch him.  Too bad it's so late in the season!   Ahh well, there's always next year.

I also noticed that my brake pads weren't biting hard enough with the Hoosiers. I guess I need a more aggressiv e compound than stock.

*whew*

What an event it was at points #8 yesterday!

I got there a little late and barely got my race tires on in time to make it through tech.

First two runs I took an enthusias tic passenger, and after getting loose on the second run, almost had to stop in order to make the next gate, and lost time on what would have been a strong run.

Third run I dropped another second after setting the front dampers a little softer and playing with tire pressures - although it got pretty loose, and 4th run I drove balls to the wall with the same settings and abusing the 2-3-2-3-2 shifts, but dropped another half second!

I actually got 1st place in my class by .071sec!

My best time was 48.666 and class leader's best was 48.737.

*It should be noted that he was back on Hankook rs3 street tires for this event.

Before I forget, here's my settings:
15x8 +20 effective offset front on Hoosier r6 225/45/15, 35psi
15x7 +40 offset rear on Hoosier r6 205/50/15, 33psi

Front dampers at 9 clicks from full stiff (1.5 turns)
Rear dampers at full soft

Front swaybay = stock si
Rear swaybar = suspensio n technique s on full stiff

Temp was in the 80's

I didn't use tire softener yet, but maybe I will at the next event...

Man, I miss doing auto-x's really badly... I put in a solid 2 seasons, almost always in the top 3 in SSM. Quite going after they added SMF because I'm back in school and don't have the time or money. If I ever get the CRX back on the road, or a quiter exhaust on the E30, i'm going to have to try to make it out to one again... Those where some of my favorite weekends. .
I don't care

I got lazy posting but I made it to 7 events, which is the minimum for the season to qualify or a trophy.

I got 2nd place for the season!
That means I get a trophy.

Damn, now I need some sponsors.

I was looking on the website, but I couldn't find any info on prices. How much does each event cost?

Pre-Registration is required for our events. Registrat ion fees are $33 for card carrying SCCA members and $43 for non-members.

I'll start a 2012 thread.

The first event this year is at Stone Mountain Park.
