Brake Duct
« on: August 02, 2012, 03:58:57 pm »
Anyone come across a good write up or pictures of brake ducting work on an EF? I'm thinking something like this:

Something that will cool between the rotors, not just air pushing to the inside disc on 1 spot. That will cause the pads to wear uneven.

+1 - I've seen marque specific ones for BMW's and Vettes, but they are not cheap and would have to be extensive ly modified to work with our little brakes (relativel y speaking).

You basically need a plate to direct the air into the inner disc vents, and that can be attached with the screws holding the dust shield in place, and then cut a hole and attach some sort of "tube" to which the brake duct hose can attach. The challenge is sizing the plate so that it does not rub or interfere with anything.

I took a look at the brakes this weekend, and it would be extremely difficult with the axle in the way  :-\

And Ant, I wasn't referring to anyone selling something like this, would definitel y have to be custom.
