Custom sohc VC:
« on: February 11, 2010, 11:09:09 pm »
The day I started.

Shaved the [H] and "16valve".

Welded/shaved the 3 10mm holes on the front of the vc.

Got rid of these unsightly mounting locations for the spark plug wire brackets.

Another mounting location for the spark plug wire bracket it is on the back left corner.

The VC was primed and sealed and tomorrow I've got to do some wet sanding then it get's painted!. I will not spoil the color I've chose, should have it done by Monday the latest. Since I work for a paint&body/custom shop I am getting a great deal on the paint choice.

How it sits now.

Not exactly.. I shaved only the [H] and the "16valve" then painted it root beer metallic from the Honda Element. This vc has every hole welded up and smoothed, shaved the [H], "16valve", the 3 small holes up front and shaved all the sparkplug brackets off the back and all. Plus this will be coated w/a gold basecoat and then house of kolor root beer kandy!.

Monday I'll work on it as much as I can during breaks I have to replace glass in a early 80's rx7 and sand an entire civic. Fridays crazy winter blast of snow have me leave work early so now Im behind.  :P

Here is my old one from last summer.

*note the ugly holes on the lower portion and the 2 items located top/left. All that is gone on the new one.
