oo ok gotcha.. the headers didnt look that big lol.. if you have a welder why dnt you try fabbin up your own traction bar?

I thought about making one. I don't think I would trust it too much, my welding is not the best. I am going to take a class at the local community college soon, then I might make one.

I finished modifying the cross member tonight. Here are some before and after installat ion.






I will be pulling the engine and trans tomorrow night so the block can go to the machine shop

Word I feel you there bro.. I bought a welder just before winter and have only been able to use it a few times.. i use to weld at school sometimes .. Its something ive always enjoyed doing just dnt have enough things to weld.. I was goin to take a shot at making a traction bar setup myself.. but idk.. Im going to school hopefully around september or so in cali at wyotech.. gonna take up motorspor ts chassis fabricati on and high performan ce powertrai ns..

I got my new RCG timing belt tensioner in today. I am glad I got it in black, It looks nice next to the white valve cover.

Just ordered my Golden Eagle oil squirter block off kit. I am off tomorrow also so I plan on taking my block to the machine shop to get it bored.

I am also planning on working on the radiotor support some tomorrow, I will get more pics after.

Its been a while since I updated anything. I have some new parts for the build, one thing would be a traction bar instead of the modified stock cross member. I have a few other things I will post them up when I have more progress on those parts.

I did get a chance to port my Skunk 2 pro intake for the 70mm throttle body. I still have to port match the intake runners, I am going to grab a stock intake gasket tomorrow after work and maybe finish that tomorrow night. Pics of the intake..





There is a good sized pile of aluminum afterward s.


Also an update on my motor build. After recheckin g my compressi on with the pistons I have, I will only have 12.2:1 which is not enough for my cams . I might wait to assemble the bottom end till I pay off a few bills and then get a new set of higher compressi on Wiseco pistons.

Do you plan on running E85 or something now? I would get rid of the cams before I bump the car out of pump gas range.


There are cheaper ways of bumping the compressi on (if you must). You could run a thinner head gasket, cut the head, install flat face valves, or replace the head with a GSR head.

I already have flat faced valves, but the Toda's want over 11.5:1 and I am not sure that I will get. I am not set on getting anything new yet, I am going to get the chassis done first and then decide on the motor later.

So I made some progress the other night. I got my radiator support welded on most of the way. It got late and I was tired and then it rained last night so I didn't want to plug my welder in. I am going to try tonight to finish welding in the spot welds and I will snap some pics.

My motor still sits a little crooked in the engine bay, I am going to buy some new mounts soon too see if that fixes the problem. I also found out from SMSP that my header was built for a B20 and that its 8 3/4 inches wide so its too wide to fit under the motor without a modified oil pan. Is there anyone here that can modify an oil pan? I dont trust my welding for something like that yet.

A Moroso oil pan and it might fit, I need to get some measureme nts from the trans case to the bottom of the oil pan to find out. Dare can you measure yours sometime?
