Did a total of about 200 miles today in the mountains
. My motor performed super well. Never over heated, never gave any complaint
s. It just screamed along all day at 5000-7000 RPM and climbed the hills like a champ (well, a 88lb/ft champ). Only injuries suffered were two rocks took a bite out of my windshiel
d so I have to go get those filled asap. My ECU threw an check engine code for the O2 sensor (turned the car off and back on cleared it). Rubbed off some of the fender liner on the right front and my car is eating a some oil so I need to find out where that's coming from, my friend rode behind me for a bit and said I was throwing up a bit of smoke when I got close to red-line.
Overall the car performed fantastic
ally and it was a great day. No wrecks, no bodily injury, no broken down cars and no speeding tickets.
Now to start building the car off the list of what I discovere
d the car REALLY REALLY needs. Today was quite the learning experienc
e and I plan to take what I learned and apply it to my driving and to the car. First things first, stiffer coil overs, those should be here before April. Second thing....
MORE TORQUE, dear god I barely made it up the hill to Brasstown Bald, I had enough power in 1st but as soon as it hit second, it wouldn't rev over 4000 RPM, just not enough power...I need to fix this...
So here's the best of the four videos I shot today. Next time I will mount the camera higher up so it doesn't show my shoulder so much, my head rests are just really low and that's what it mounts on.
