I'm consideri ng stepping my security game up and looking into adding GPS tracking to my car. Anyone have any suggestio ns/recommendations? I know of lojack, but I'm pretty sure there's more out there than that.

Plus the fact that any knowledge able criminal knows how to disable lo-jack. I'll give you a pitbull puppy, you can just keep him in there with the windows cracked. Train him to tear the shit out of anyone who approache s the car. Problem solved.

Viper has a great system for that. You can track it and even remote start it online. And for the iPhone fags, theres an app for the same things. Not a cheap system but Viper IS the best.

viper is very trusted but in the end its just an alarm you get what you pay for
alarm plus a few kill switches and you should be good to go. whatever you do dont have the brain put on the left side of the dash like everyone elses is

I had a viper alarm in my old car.
about the best alarm I've ever had.
If you do an alarm do a stealth install and install it in a different position.
Take some time to plan it out.
Plus with Lo-jack you also have to realize is there are locations where lo-jack is not any good due to no coverage by cops.
Look for cop cars with the triple antenna's on the back they are equipped for lo-jack recovery.

Maybe it was how my friend had is Viper alarm installed, but his was so sensitive . If you walked within 3 feet of it, it would go off. We'd be in his apartment, and someone out in the parking lot would get in their car and set it off. Deterred me from ever buying a Viper alarm.

Do you have to pay monthly for the GPS? Do you know the model #?

Wow, so..... Viper doesn carry the GPS tracking system anymore. I just went through their site and its gone. They have the Smart Start system though. Remote start, lock, unlock your car with your smart phone. No gps tracking though... .

you can always buy a gps tracked cell phone and just get the lowest monthly plan and just leave it in your car. i had a friend who actually got his car back from being stolen this way

I currently have a Viper alarm on the REX, and it's problemat ic. It goes off randomly. I can hit the car hard and it wont go off. Last, it keeps going into valent mode. The crazy thing about it is my wife has the SAME alarm on her can, and it works great LMAO. Rather than fix it, I'm going just install another one alarm (more than likely another viper model or a better brand in the same family), and I want to add GPS to it. More than likely I'm going to get this dude to install the alarm since he's like an alarm guru http://www.carolinahondas.com/ganked/52452-alarm-list-sticky.html

If I have to pay monthly, I'm more than likely going to get a real gps tracking system rather than a cell phone.
