front and back bumpers
« on: May 17, 2011, 02:14:47 pm »
I've just recently started my first build and trying to get the shell done before painting and was wondering before I buy..if SiR front and back bumpers will line up right on my 88 dx?

Need to make sure if you get Sir bumpers that you get the supports with them.

The rear bumper would be "slightly" off without the rear filler piece, but not enough to draw attention .

Ebay

Also, you do know you need more than just the front bumper for the "complete" look, right? You need to replace your filler piece, head lights, and hood for the jdm look.

Failed to mention that this is a build for an 88 dx hatchback not an 88 dx crx

I figured it was for a hatch since EF9 versus EF8.

If you got 88-89 style corners, no.

Ok..so the sir front bumper will work if I have the bumper support headlight s and front filler..b ut what abt my fenders? Do I need to change them to? And not sure as to which corners I have bought them on car already

Nope fenders do not need changing.

Only differenc e between usdm and jdm is the the side marker lights.

Depending on the corners.  Might have the screw holes in the corner of the fenders or the little push/ slide clips.

If you have jdm headlight s will need the hood as well.

Ok..so for the whole jdm conversio n look..I'll need all this right
- Both bumpers with bumper supports
- the front and back fillers
- the sir hood( hopefully the carbon fiber)
- sir headlight s
- and new corners

tee bar (where your hood release is)

otherwise you are rigging the usdm to work.

The rear filler, your gonna have issues since the key hole is not located in the same location as the usdm hatch.  Could do it the easy way, remove key assy and key hole from the filler piece.

But that is correct for stuff needed.

From there you start looking at hatch, glass etc.

Or you say screw it and do what I'm doing and build a rhd ef9 clone.
